Terms & Conditions

These Terms & Conditions govern access to and use of Person County Released Inmates. By visiting a page, following a link, or using a search feature, you agree to these rules and to all laws that apply to your activity. If you do not accept every term, do not use the site. The terms explain the site's private status, acceptable conduct, limits on record use, outside services, ownership, warranties, and available remedies. They also identify the law that governs the agreement and what happens if one provision cannot be enforced.

Person County Released Inmates is privately owned and has no affiliation with Person County, the Sheriff's Office, the Detention Center, NCDAC, any court, or any government body. Neither this site nor its advertising partners offers credit, employment, insurance, housing or tenant screening, or another service governed by the Fair Credit Reporting Act. The site is not a private investigation firm or consumer reporting agency. It helps visitors locate Person County and North Carolina custody and release-record resources.

Nature of This Resource

This is a private reference service. It does not store official jail, release, offender, court, supervision, federal, or immigration records. It cannot confirm a person's current custody, release anyone, change a government record, file a court document, or submit a public-record request for a visitor.

Links point toward the Person County Sheriff's Office and Detention Center, North Carolina Department of Adult Correction, court portals, federal locators, and other research tools. Chapter 132 of the North Carolina General Statutes governs access to qualifying records held by public agencies. Using this private site is not the same as filing a Chapter 132 request with the agency that keeps the record.

Acceptable Use Rules

You may use the site only for lawful, nonharmful purposes and in a way that respects other users and the operation of the service. You agree that you will not:

  • Violate a local, North Carolina, federal, or other applicable law.
  • Use information to stalk, intimidate, harass, threaten, or harm anyone.
  • Base hiring, housing, lending, insurance, or another prohibited eligibility decision on site content.
  • Attempt to enter an account, server, system, or restricted area without authorization.
  • Run automated bots, crawlers, scrapers, or bulk extraction tools against the site.
  • Interfere with site access, security, availability, or another visitor's use.

No Consumer Reports

Person County Released Inmates is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. It does not provide background checks, credit reports, consumer reports, or screening services, and neither do its advertising partners through this site. You agree not to use any information obtained here for:

  • A decision to hire, fire, promote, or retain a worker.
  • Housing or tenant screening and rental decisions.
  • Creditworthiness, lending, or insurance premiums and coverage.
  • Licensing, permits, or eligibility for a government program.
  • Any other purpose regulated by the Fair Credit Reporting Act.

Outside Websites and Services

Links may lead to county release information, sheriff and corrections resources, North Carolina court and public-record portals, legal-aid materials, federal systems, and outside search tools. A link is provided for reference and does not endorse the destination. Person County Released Inmates does not control an outside site's content, data practices, fees, terms, security, or availability. Review the destination's current policies before using it or submitting information.

Service Provided As Is

The site, its text, links, and functions are provided “as is” and “as available.” To the extent permitted by law, no express or implied warranty is made about:

  • The accuracy, completeness, context, or current status of information.
  • Continuous or uninterrupted access to the site.
  • Freedom from errors, defects, malware, or security weaknesses.
  • The scope, quality, or completeness of results from a search partner.

Custody and public records can change quickly. A Person County jail status, NCDAC record, VINE event, court docket, or federal locator result may be delayed or incomplete. Nothing on this site is an official statement from the sheriff, a corrections department, a court, or another government agency.

Limits on Liability

To the fullest extent allowed by applicable law, Person County Released Inmates and its owners, operators, contractors, and partners will not be liable for direct, indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive loss arising from access to, inability to use, or reliance on the site or a linked service. This limitation applies even if the possibility of loss was known.

Your Duty to Indemnify

You agree to defend, indemnify, and hold harmless Person County Released Inmates and its owners, operators, contractors, and partners from claims, losses, liabilities, costs, and reasonable legal fees arising from your use of the site, your violation of these Terms & Conditions, or your infringement of another person's rights.

Ownership of Site Materials

Unless a source or separate owner is identified, site text, graphics, logos, design elements, and code belong to Person County Released Inmates or its content partners and are protected by applicable intellectual-property law. You may not copy, republish, distribute, sell, modify, or create derivative material from them without prior written permission. Government records and linked agency materials remain subject to their own rules and ownership.

Revisions to These Terms

We may revise these Terms & Conditions at any time. A revised version becomes effective when it is posted on this page. Continued use after posting means you accept the current version, so review the terms periodically.

Suspension or Loss of Access

We may restrict, suspend, or end access to all or part of the site at any time, for any reason, and without advance notice. This authority includes action taken to protect security, enforce these terms, maintain the service, or respond to suspected misuse.

North Carolina Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of the State of North Carolina, without regard to conflict-of-law principles. Any dispute concerning these terms or use of the site must be filed in a court with proper jurisdiction within North Carolina.

Severability of Provisions

If a court finds one part of these terms invalid or unenforceable, the remaining provisions will continue in effect. The affected provision will be narrowed or adjusted only to the minimum extent needed to make it enforceable when the law permits.
