Search Terms
A name, location, or other term entered into a search box is transmitted to the third-party provider that operates that tool. Person County Released Inmates does not store or log those search terms on its own systems. The provider receives and processes the query under its own privacy policy, terms, and technical practices.
Messages Sent to Us
If you send an email or use a contact form, we retain the message and the contact details supplied with it so we can review and answer the request. We do not share a contact message outside the organization unless doing so is required by law, needed to respond to a valid legal order, or necessary to protect the service and its users.
Technical Data and Cookies
Standard web systems may collect limited technical information when a page loads. This information helps diagnose faults, understand use patterns, and maintain site performance. The data may include:
- The visitor's Internet Protocol address.
- Browser name, browser version, and language settings.
- Device category and operating system.

When Information May Be Shared
Person County Released Inmates does not sell personal information. Data may still be disclosed or transmitted to limited recipients that perform a service, measure use, deliver advertising, or respond to lawful process:
- Search partners that receive and process submitted queries.
- Analytics providers that measure site traffic and performance.
- Advertising networks that deliver or assess advertisements.
- Law enforcement or government bodies acting under a valid subpoena, court order, warrant, or other binding legal demand.
North Carolina public-record access is governed in part by Chapter 132 of the North Carolina General Statutes. That law concerns records held by public agencies. Person County Released Inmates is privately operated, so sending a message here is not the same as submitting a Chapter 132 request to Person County or another government custodian.
Reasonable Security Measures
We use reasonable administrative and technical practices intended to protect information handled through the site. No website, network, email system, or transmission over the Internet can be guaranteed secure. These measures reduce risk but do not make Person County Released Inmates breach-proof, and visitors should avoid sending sensitive information that is not needed for a message.
Visitors Under Eighteen
This site is intended for adults. Person County Released Inmates does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone younger than 18. A parent or guardian who believes a minor submitted information may use Contact Us to request review and deletion of the material.
Privacy Choices and Requests
Depending on the law that applies and the type of information held, a visitor may ask us to take one of the following actions. A request may require enough information to identify the relevant record and verify the requester:
- Provide a copy of personal information we hold about the requester.
- Correct personal information that is inaccurate.
- Delete information when no legal or operational reason requires retention.
- Opt out of certain processing when an applicable right permits it.
These requests apply only to information controlled by this private site. Questions about a Person County sheriff record, an NCDAC offender record, a court case, or another agency file must go to the government office that maintains it.
Changes to This Notice
This Privacy Notice may be revised as site practices, service providers, or legal requirements change. A revised version takes effect when posted here and will carry its updated effective date. Continued use after posting means the visitor accepts the revised notice.
